Cold Formed Lipped Angles

A common replacement for lip channels in the market is lipped angles.

Though the rolling process of both lip channels and lipped angles are similar, the strip width used for the lipped angle is less than that of a lip channel. This means that there is a potential cost saving to the customer or end user as the lipped angle should be lighter than the lip channel. Transport cost and the cost of hot dip galvanizing can therefore be reduced. The fact that there is also less of an area to cover on a lipped angle than that of a lip channel could have cost savings implications should one paint or primer the steel section.

Both lip channels and lipped angles have a wide variety of common sizes available in the South African market. To add value and assist customers Tubecon offers an inline punching facility that can punch holes of various sizes in the profile, we can also roll the steel channel to length.
